Donate, shop, and stop pediatric brain cancer!

Thank you to everyone who supported the 3rd Annual Allie’s Sale. Together we raised $33,000 for the pediatric brain cancer research! Mark your calendars, the 4th Annual Allie’s Sale will be held from October 6th through 8th at Valley View United Methodist in Overland Park.

Allie’s Sale is a three-day charity garage sale held in memory of Allie. The sale is held every October in honor of Allie’s birthday. The sale features thousands of great items, raffle items, and food that are donated by local families and businesses. All of the money raised by the sale is donated to pediatric brain cancer research. The sale showcases the generosity and kindness of the local community while giving hope to the families affected by pediatric brain cancer. Allie’s Sale has grown quickly, and Team Little Owl is proud of the work of our volunteers, donors, and sponsors.  These totals would not be possible without you.

History

Our neighbor, Tricia Nelson, hosted the first Allie’s Sale in 2013, as a way to honor Allie on her birthday. She collected donations from our neighbors, her friends, and her church. She hoped to raise a few hundred dollars from the sale and donate it to the Children’s Brain Tumor Project. There was one raffle item in that sale; Allie’s bike she never got to ride. It was a Christmas gift the year before. The sale was bigger than we ever expected. After three days, the first Allie’s Sale raised $4,500.

The second year, the sale was much bigger, including pricing of over 5000 soft items such as clothes, bedding, and stuffed animals. There were great raffle items, fantastic food, and the incredible support from our generous corporate sponsors. Neighbors and friends worked for months on nights and weekends to sort, prepare, and price all the sale items. In the end, the sale raised an incredible $24,000!

Head For The Cure Run/Walk 5K

Thank you to the record-setting 334 team members that walked in memory of Allie at 2016’s Head For The Cure 5k! We are honored that so many people turned out for the best HFTC yet! Thank you to Head For The Cure for supporting pediatric brain cancer research by partnering with Team Little Owl. For the last two years, Head For The Cure has committed a grant of $20,000 to the Children’s Brain Tumor Project in Allie’s memory!

We are so thankful for the outpouring of support and we can’t wait to walk with our wonderful team in Allie’s memory at next year’s 5K!
